Wax to the max!.
I, like many other women in the city, used to go to the Sansom St. spot, out of desperation. No one was as thorough, but the lack of respect and poor treatment made me seek a kinder, gentler and more professional experience. Thankfully, a friend recommended Brenda, at Tabu Salon. Brenda is not only an amazing aesthetician, but she makes me feel completely comfortable. A brazilian bikini wax is not the easiest thing to endure, but Brenda goes out of her way to ease any discomfort. She is thorough, gentle and completely professional. Brenda also has a great reputation for facials.
Everyone in the salon has treated me courteously, whether it's a confirmation phone call or a friendly greeting when I walk through the door. Bravo!
Loyal Client for 8+ years.
I have been a loyal TABU client for 8 years. I actually followed the owner & manager from another salon that they worked at previously. I could go to a salon that is closer to my home, but I choose to travel 30 minutes for their super facials, waxing and haircuts. You can not beat TABU prices, but their specials are fantastic. (F.Y.I. The specials clearly state that they can not be combined with any other offer or with gift certifacates.) A great city salon with super prices, on going specials and a comfortable atmosphere.
To Diva 62...How do you know who is a client or not? My suspicion is that you and lm2cute are one in the same. (Not to mention phillygirl123 and phillygoer52.) Get over it and get a life!
So exicited I found my new Salon. I just moved here from New York a year ago and was so depressed cause I could'nt find a good stylist. Then a friend told me about Tabu and said I had to go. Well from the moment I walked in I was taken care of. Their staff is so friendly and helpful. It had an upbeat energetic atmosphere. I got a great hair cut and highlights for a reasonable price. I have'nt had good service like this in a long time. So I've been going ever since and never had a bad experience.
Best salon in town. I have been going to Tabu for at least 3 Years now , I have to say it is one of the Friendliest Salons I have ever been to ! The Satff can not do enough for you . You are Greeted the minute you walk into the Salon with a Smile and I am Asked if I would like something to drink.I have to say ,I have had my hair done by pretty much by everyone in the salon because my scedule is so hectic , and everytime I have been happy. I have yet to try the spa services but looking forward to it! I do have to say I have had my eyebrows waxed by the manager , It was one of the best waxings I have had in a while ! Thank You Tabu for your continued Great Service . Loyal Client for life !!!!!
USED to be good...not so much anymore. I've been to Tabu 4 times and the first two time was great. I didn't have to wait long and the service was great. The last two times I was there I had to wait too long and they were kinda rude and obnoxious. It seems like once they think they've got you they aren't nice and helpful anymore. It felt like I was a bother to them. If they don't want my business I will take it elsewhere.
Do not get a facial from Brenda. Brenda does not treat her clients with respect! If you want a good facial from a half-decent person stay away from Tabu!
Worst service I've ever experienced!. I went to Tabu in Jan 09 for a 30 minutes massage and waited 40 minutes for the masseuse Jackie to show up. She gave me $10 off and a 25% coupon to use next time I came in. Fast forward to March 09. There was a package on line for a facial and reflexology for $70. I called up and scheduled it and let the receptionist know I had a 25% off coupon and $10 left on my gift certificate from before. I show up and Jackie took me to the back room and told me that I cannot use the coupon because I was supposed to bring someone with me in order to use it (she conveniently forgot to tell me this the last time). When I said I don’t want the service she said she would ask. She came back and said they would give me 25% off both services. Great. I got the reflexology and facial. The receptionist tells me it will cost $67. I tell her I got the $70 package and should get 25% off that plus a $10 gift certificate. I should only have to pay $42 cash. The “owner” came up and asked what the problem was. I explained to him what happened. He started whiny saying it wouldn’t be fair to give me a discount on a package. He also said he would not let me use my gift certificate. I told him to please speak to Jackie. He stomped back to Jackie’s room, came back out and said it just wouldn’t be fair. When I tried to protest again he yelled at me saying “Jackie doesn’t make up the rules!!” He said I would have to sit and wait for the manager. Why I would have to wait for a manager when he is the “owner” I have no idea. The facial lady came out after I had been sitting there for 20 minutes! She asked me to go in the back room. When I got there the first word out of her mouth was “LISTEN!” She continued to yell at me, saying it’s not fair to give me the discount. She doesn’t care that Jackie was late. It’s not her problem. She suggests I pay and walk! She said she would call the cops on me! She said she was giving me 25% off the regularly priced services which is $90. How does it help me to raise the price then take 25% off?! I never once raised my voice to her and should never have been treated this way. I ended up having to pay the full amount. They still wouldn’t let me use my gift certificate so I gave it to another customer because I will never be back. I’m actually contemplating picketing in front of their salon.
First time visit - great salon. I usually frequent another salon in the city but decided to give Tabu a try this past weekend. I had highlights/lowlights, cut/blow-out and a "body buff" massage. All services were fantastic, with a very friendly staff and excellent location for eating/drinks after the appt. My color looks amazing and I have recieved many compliments. Thanks Tabu, I'll be back!
Great Salon, Cheerful, pleasant staff.. Have been going to Tabu for a year now, even pay the $4.00 to cross the bridge just to get my hair colored by Erin Duffy. Salon staff are always cheerful and pleasant. Have recommended Erin to 4 people and they all love her.
