Editorial Review for Joan Shepp Boutique – by Frances Nguyen

In Short
The atelier of a fashionista's dreams, this store has 22-foot ceilings and a huge window in front decked out with the latest fashions. The space is loosely arranged into sections, with jewelry in display cases, shoes, makeup and, of course, racks of clothes. Sarah, a mannequin, leans haughtily over the balcony, surveying the shoppers below. The second-floor loft houses a section called Glamour Girls, specializing in vintage couture from the 1940s through 1960s.

To make a day of it, Restaurant Row's eateries beckon. Lunch at Striped Bass perhaps?

Save Money

If Chloe and Dries Van Noten are out of your price range, you can still indulge in hand-knit gloves or locally made jewelry for under $50.

i moved to rittenhouse in dec 07, from nyc. and this is the first and only store that i can compare to nyc quality standards. they have a great selection, great staff, and there not hounding you to buy. I'm a young professiona and after a weeks worth of hard work i like to spoil my self to a little something at joan shepp.

You walk in the store and you feel just like you’re in a fashion showroom at VOGUE!! They have so many designers like my faviorts Yōji Yamamoto, Comme Des Garcon, Chloe, Balenciaga, Christian Louboutin, Stella Mc Cartney , Rick Owens, Prada, Miu Miu, Junya Wantanabe, Martin Margiela, and Dres van Noten with all the wonderful floral print. All these designers in one place are fantastic and make just looking around wonderful. The sales people are all so helpful at putting wonderful outfits together. They also have great little cookies champagne ,wine and cheese to snack on which I love. Because shopping can just be too much sometimes but when you can shop, take your time and have some wine makes it all the better. So I purchased a Y3 bag by Yōji Yamamoto and a pair of Prada shoes which I love and know that no one else in the city has them on I know that this store gets one of a kind pieces and they are special to the city……. A must visit

Pros: Great and exciting clothing

Cons: no mens
