Ol' faithful dishes at N. 3rd include the cornmeal-dusted fried calamari with spicy tomato dipping sauce, the old-school wedge salad and the cookout-style "Bee's Backyard Burger," named for owner Mark Bee.
Great place. Great food. Great service.. Everything we could wish for from a neighborhood eating & drinking establishment. LOVE it. Our only criticism is that we wish the fantastic specials were Permanently on the menu! Great and attentive service, as well. Thank you for many wonderful brunches, lunches and dinners. Wishhing you continued success - you deserve it.

Great wings! Fun atmosphere!. N. 3rd is one of the my favorite hangouts! The wings are amazing with a beers to match. Great for people watching in the summer.
never fails us.. For a young family on a tight budget, this is the place to eat. We have been coming to N 3rd for a number of years now and have NEVER had a bad meal. The service is great (and they are all so very good looking :) and the food is consistent. I'm IN LOVE with the lamb sandwich special. PUT IT ON THE MENU!! And the tuna burger is insane...the spring rolls to die for...the half chicken entree...the mojito martini...the chocolate bread pudding. Oh my god. I'm getting hungry. And they are always so cool about accommodating our 4 year old with a chicken strip and french fry platter (which is not on their menu).
Soggy sandwiches, poor service. I have been to North 3rd several times, both for brunch and dinner. Each time I visit I find that the food has gone slightly down hill and the servers become increasingly less customer driven/focused. This last visit was for brunch. It is seat yourself, so it can be a little difficult to find a table. For this reason we ate at the bar. It took over 30 minutes for us to get our food, we ordered wings and a sandwich to share. The wings were delcious, the sauce was just the right spice and the blue cheese was fresh. However, the sandwich was soggy. Our server was annoyed when we asked for condiments, and never came to check on us. What was supposed to be a quick brunch, ended up taking over 1.5 hours due the long wait for the food. T
Great beer selction, good eats and happening place for Eagles fans!. N 3rd is the spot for Eagles fans! From the great atmosphere to the numerous beer selections to the music and, let's not forget, they're a great spot for a good meal. We always receive excellent service from the wait staff which is hard to come by these days in other bars and restaurants. Definitely a spot to go!
Good spot for a nice meal with drinks. North 3rd is one of the better relaxed bars to stop in for a good meal in Philly. The prices are reasonable, could be cheaper but there are certainly places in the area that charge more. The menu is their real selling point; it offers a nice variety and the food has been high quality each time I've gone. The beer list is also very good. Parking is usually pretty easy and while it's often crowded, you should be able to get a seat. The atmopshere is chill and the place is spacious and airy. I always mean to get to North 3rd more often, and when I get a chance to I always wonder why I don't.
Great spot if you have night-vision goggles. Met friends for drinks and dinner on a recent Sunday night. Started out great with an impressive beer selection and extensive menu. Note: it was still light out when we arrived. Appetizers were good, above-average, typical bar food including the calamari. As the sun began to set, it gradually got darker and darker. By the time, our main courses arrived (burgers and the crispy chicken sandwich-yummy) it was dark enough that we had to summon the server and request that additional lights be turned on so we could see the food on our plates. Our request was denied and we were given the explanation that the owner would not allow the staff to alter the lighting. The food was great, as was the early ambience, but it went downhill with the sunset. I struggle giving a good recommendation to a place that made me struggle to see and eat my food but the place was a total joy except for the lighting. PLEASE add some wattage to the bulbs hanging above the bar and to both dining rooms! I would love to go back but will only do so in the daytime until this issue has been resolved.
some great dishes remain, others need serious attention. I was shocked upon my return to North Third how much the overall quality of the food had slipped. The mussels exuded an unpleasant smell, indicative of seafood passed its prime, of the salad with chili-rubbed chicken breast only the few strips of breast were good - the salad was a soggy heap. Still great: the chicken wings and the chocolate bread pudding (omit the tasteless pear crumble). The service is as friendly and efficient as ever (our waitress took the mussels off the bill), the place seems to get darker with every visit - great for dates, just don't try to talk over the very loud (and good) soundtrack. A more frequent changing of the beers on tap would be nice.
