Radnor >Bistro Cassis
Bistro Cassis....wonderful evening...highly recommended..
My wife and I enjoyed our first dinner at Bistro Cassis for the first time on 5.2.08. This restaurant has a very scenic background and is next to the Pond. The Pond has cloth table cloths and Bistro has sticky plastic table coverings. There was very lovely background music provided by a live musician. The presentation of the food was beyond artistic. I am 61 and never saw such beautiful mashed potatoes. Everything on the plate was magnificently arranged and tasty. I ordered a Hanger steak and I am still trying to figure out what it really is since I never heard of this cut before. I think it was most similar to a flank steak that was cut differently. My wife had a fish dish that was just as beautiful; however, she complained the pepper was a bit too strong and unnecessary. We ordered a generous salad which was ample for two to share. It was fresh and tasty with a mystery white vegetable that might have been a cucumber cut length wise.
Service was excellent with many helpful servers. We will return because almost everything was positive. Only negatives were the limited menu selection (too much shell fish and too few entrees), sticky table cloth, excess pepper on the fish, no talapia or salmon or duck on the menu, and the glass of wine was very skimpy with less than half the glass filled. For $7. for a glass of white zin.....I'd expect more than half a glass.
They offered a 3 course special for $30., which was reasonable considering the experience.
Parking is ample and all credit cards were accepted.
