In Short – A few blocks along cobblestoned Germantown Avenue comprise the Hill's own main street, peppered with chain stores. Antique boutiques dominate the shopping district, with specialty shops in between. Amid these "Roadshow"-watcher's establishments are garden stores, children's boutiques, art galleries and gourmet shops. There's also Kilian's Hardware, Chestnut Hill Sporting Goods, the Cheese Shop, Zipf's Candies and a farmers' market.

Editor's Tips

Where to Go:
Shops run along the avenue from the Free Library to Cresheim Valley Drive.
The Extras:
Wednesday evenings between Thanksgiving and Christmas, shops here stay open and musicians stroll the streets for festive "Stag and Doe" nights.
