Completely missed the mark!.
We just finished dinner here and I must say- I am ok with the prices attached to your courses, what I'm not ok is, with the lack of presentation and bi-polar service. I normally take reviews with a grain of salt, but anyone that has great reviews about the food here, needs to recheck their palate!
We were greeted warmly and introduced to your servers graciously, Gabriel and Enzo, he seemed to be shadowing him. Service really started out wonderfully, they refolded up our napkins every time we got up from the table, good....they were very attentive and engaging as we orders our cocktails and appetizers. The main dining room was very cozy, high ceilings, a cascading piece of water art in the back of the room, with the boathouse row views on the terrace.
We started off with the grilled octopus and caesar salad. the parmesan resembled the green grocery store kraft parmesan cheese container, the octopus was tender, but it was too salty to even finish. Our entree consisted of the Chambord Duck- medium rare and the lamb saddle- medium with a side of sweet potato wedges. I have yet go to the cartoonishly portioned entreeds, so small that I had to snicker( while crying deep inside as I know the price tag attached to the meals) but tonight was THE night, for $9.00 I expect that all 4 WEDGES (that's right I countedthen) be cooked to perfection.... 2 of 4 wedges were edible and we debated about sending back the other two, but that would be a bit odd. Can you just send out two new wedges?! The lamb saddle was a nicely cooked and a favorful medium, my duck presentation looked like a garnish exercise gone wrong, raspberry drizzle all over the plate= terrible- the flavors were meh.
Moving on the dessert- I ordered the vanilla creme brulee, pretty simple right? The presentation consist of 3 raspberry dropped on a plate much to big for the brulee, I eagerly dug into the crispy surface only to realize that the 'crisp' shell was not crisp at all, I'm not chef but, a creme brulee should be well carmelized top and a creamy smooth interior, how a pastry chef could send it out to the hot plate and have the executive chef NOT catch such an obvious subpar preparation is beyond me!! Hello!! It's a Saturday night, what are you doing?!! We had to ask Enzo to get us a fresh one. We had also ordered some expresso, cappaccino and some remy martin vsop.
After dessert, service completely fell off the radar, it had took us 40 minutes to retrieve the check, my husband said that we would have given them a good tip based on the service, however waiting that long, after a disappointing meal, was ridiculous. The napkin folding session was apparently only for the first portion of the dinner, following up with us was no longer a priority.
Alas, the meal was ok... if not for the company, I was have been up in arms, since nothing, other then the coffee and wine had a good presentation and appeasing flavor.Gabriel seemed to be very knowledgeable, however I have to tip my hat to Enzo as he seemed to be the only on who wanted to make sure everything be perfect for us.
Waterworks, you simply can not monopolized purely on the view(please see my XIX review, your prices need to reflect the food AND service.
Thumbs down, although I was more critical of WW then other restaurants. The restaurant asks their diners to 'refrain' from wearing jeans in the main dining room, well I prefer the wait staff to refrain from disappearing during service!
shakes head....there was a level of expectation set when we made our reservation and sadly, it was not met:(
BUSINESS CLOSED. Beautiful products for the bath, kitchen and home. The staff was always so nice. What a shame. George W.Bush should have his toenails pulled for screwing up the economy so badly.

To celebrate a birthday, 8 of us went to the waterworks. The reservation was at 8:30pm and we were seated right away but it was all downhill from there. I had to speak to management on 6 different occasions throughout the meal. It took 30 minutes for our waiter to come to our table and greet us. Even longer to get 1 lousy roll and water. Throughout the entire dinner they only refilled teh water once and never replenished the bread. They neevr even came back to see if we wanted a second round of drinks. It took 2.5 hours for us to eventually get our entreees, which they messed up and double charged us. They tried to be accomodating and comped us 2 desserts for 8 people. That means like 1 bite each. The poor service, unprofessionalism of the entire staff (I had to ask the manager to attend to our table, but had to wait for him to stop making out with his girlfriend at the bar first) defintely RUINED our meal. IT became funny how PATEHTIC the service was and how they really do not understand customer service. The staff just completely ruins the dining experience.
Redeeming quality is the chef, although EXTREMELY slow, he does make a good dish.
