In Short – Located between Christopher Columbus Elementary School and the Italian Market, this former bakery is bright and cozy. A chandelier made from giant whisks hangs from the ceiling while artwork is displayed in a glass case in the front. For breakfast, choose from apple and sharp cheddar omelets, whole-wheat pancakes, homemade granola and tofu scramble. For lunch, try a turkey Reuben, vegetarian cheese steak, meat loaf platter, sweet potato fries and a mug of hot chocolate.

Everything here is delicious

by od19 at Citysearch

I've been here for brunch (stellar) and lunch, which is equally amazing. The sandwiches are delicious and huge and the parm fries and sweet potato fries are both soooo good. I've never done dessert here, but I will be returning some time to give it a try.

consistently good!

Lovely brunch spot in the Italian Market area! Get ready for lines even in the winter but it is worth it! Huge portions - great taste from the overly stuffed french toast to the burgers!

great brunch spot

This place is adorable. I can see how it's not for everyone, though. I think the last reviewer put it perfectly when he said you'll either think it's quaint and intimate in it's surround, or cramped and claustrophobic. I, obviously, fall in the former category. I'm totally won over by the authentic 50's-type feel to the place, which doesn't have the kitchy over-the-top feel that some diner's have. In keeping with this, they somehow they manage to get the cutest little cat's-eyeglass-wearing-type waitresses around, so if you're in need of eye-candy, this place'll give you your fix. It's been said before, but the french toast is unbelievable. Unfreaking unbelievable. Also, their sweet potato fries are delish (though not as good as Monk's), and their omlette's are fantastic (esp the spanish-themed one...forget the name). You will be waiting, though, if you come on the weekends, but they call you when you're ready to be seated, which is awesome because you're right in the heart of the Italian Market, allowing you to sample all sort of pre-brunch deliciousness in the surrounding Italian deli stores.

  • Pros: stuffed french toast, omelettes, sweet potato frieds
  • Cons: long waits for weekend brunch

Great place for breakfast/brunch

by ReeMo at Citysearch

I wrote my original review on 8/31/09 regarding the caramelized french toast, but I had to edit my review after having their stuffed french toast on three occasions.

If you are in to french toast, you have got to try their stuffed french toast. IT'S GREAT!!! Just to full warn you, it is a lot for one person. My wife and I usually share it when we go. Aside from the stuffed french toast, their omelets are good. We had an omelet with white cheddar, spinach, and tomatoes.

Overall, the breakfast at Sabrina's is great. I wish I could speak about lunch and dinner, but I'm only ever interested in breakfast whenever I go.

The only negatives would be the size of the place. Depending on your taste, you will either view it as small and cozy, or cramped. I view it as the former. In addition, the wait time on weekends is long.

  • Pros: Great breakfast. Serving size is huge.
  • Cons: Only negative may be the size and the wait on weekends.
