Editorial Review for Sabrina's Cafe – by Lauren McCutcheon

In Short
Located between Christopher Columbus Elementary School and the Italian Market, this former bakery is bright and cozy. A chandelier made from giant whisks hangs from the ceiling while artwork is displayed in a glass case in the front. For breakfast, choose from apple and sharp cheddar omelets, whole-wheat pancakes, homemade granola and tofu scramble. For lunch, try a turkey Reuben, vegetarian cheese steak, meat loaf platter, sweet potato fries and a mug of hot chocolate.

the food is good and the decor is very warming..make you feel at home. but the serving is bad. The waiter obviously wasn't in a great mood when seating us.

Pros: great place for a relaxing brunch

Cons: bad service

As residents of Bella Vista, we have been going to Sabrina's since 2004. At first we were turned off by the long brunch lines of urban voyeurs from the suburbs. We finally broke down and went to Sabrina's for early dinner midweek--and have been regulars ever since. The interior decoration is nothing to write home about unless you lived in JP or Brattleboro during the 1970s. The outdoor seating is fun well into October. The burgers are cooked to perfection, the crusted salmon is wonderful, and their french-fry alternative--polenta fries--are out of this world. The fattening peanut butter deserts are sensational--they should have these every night! Forget counting calories for an evening, and try Sabrina's. The flirty twenty-something waitresses will make your husband's fifty-something heart flutter. It's dirt cheap, and given it's a BYOB, two people can get heaps of food for $50.00.

Pros: Mountains of delicious hippie food with a gourmet twist for a low price
