Shopping >30th Street Station
I recently parked at the 30th & JFK parking lot and based on the signs, the lot is under new management, 'Parkway'. The entrance to the lot is on JFK. They have made some positive changes and the lot is much better maintained and is actually clean! The staff was helpful when I went to pay for my parking. The price is also bearable at $22 per day, which is $5 cheaper than 30th street station but just as close. I'd definitely park here for 30th street station.
Still the grandest way to enter the city..
The constant hubbub of travelers and commuters--grumbling because of delayed arrivals, woozy from fast-food consumption, running for the SEPTA platform--contrasts with the airy atmosphere of the station itself, marked by high ceilings and natural light that streams through the windows on even the darkest days. Recent renovations, courtesy of Amtrak's Acela initiative, have streamlined signage to which the grand Solari Udine flip-board in the middle presents a stately contrast.
