I still personally think that Geno's is a little over rated, but they do make a good cheesesteak. I just feel that they are over priced and not really worth the trip in my eyes. There are so many better places I would like to spend my money on in Philly.

Ewww! Too much grease not enough "wiz". Pat's was a clear winner ... loved the experience non-the-less of flying out to Philly to do this.(We work for an airline). Also ... asking too much for fries. Just saying.

Waste of time. Went there after hearing all this great stuff about. I food was a waste it was to really overpriced. i got a cheesestea, plain fries and a drink and that was $16.00. that was horriable. I came in from Atlanta to see which on was better from Pat or Geno and I don't like either. Better service and better food at Ishkabibble. Try that instead.

Bummer!. Went there with visitors from out of town. We had visited Independence Hall and it was time for lunch. Drove all the way down there for a dry, overpriced cheese?steak. Nasty service attitude, no place to sit, wrapped our greasy sandwiches and went to Society Hill area to sit and eat. Terrible food and I frankly was embarrassed. Never again.

Bad Food, Terrible Service. I went to Geno's years ago and genuinely enjoyed my sandwich and the assembly-line style service. They asked you everything that you wanted on your steak. Since then, the food and service have gone down the toilet. They are so preoccupied with moving the line that they won't ask questions or listen to you--they throw disgusting cheez whiz sandwiches (with RAW onions!) at you and if you asked for something else, too bad. Since I have a dairy allergy, I totally wasted my money and since I had already paid, they completely ignored me. Everything about the place says "Screw you if you don't conform" so if I hadn't previously had a good experience I would never have come to Geno's. Even the fries are horrible. Please, stay away!

Would rather watch Oprah masturbate!. Many cheese steaks and alot of years spent leading up to the supposed grand daddy of cheese steaks were a waste. The people who are the counter staff, act like there doing you a favor by letting you buy there food. Then when you pay, you realize you could have a nice sushi diner or pay for a 113 starving African kids to eat for the price of this junk. No flavor, just onions. Grease and despair is all I felt after I left here. If not for the celebrity pictures or bogus support from food tv, this place would not be happening. Please save your money and take your woman out to eat any where else. You will not get laid if you eat here.

NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!. LOOK GUYS, THIS PLACE IS SO OVER RATED THAT IS NOT EVEN FUNNY. I WENT THERE WITH MY MOTHER AND YOUNGER SISTER, DROVE FROM MARYLAND JUST TO TRY IT OUT AND THIS IS THE OUTCOME.

1- TERRIBLE, DISGUSTING SERVICE

2-THE TWO OLD CHICKS THAT TOOK MY ORDER THREW THE 3 DRY ASS SANDWICHES AT ME WITHOUT EVEN SAY THANK YOU.

3- PAYED $ 41.00 FOR 3 STEAKS, 3 MIDIUM SIZE FOUNTAIN DRINKS AND 2 ORDERS A CHEESE FRIES. WAY TOO EXPENSIVE !!.

4- THIS PLACE IS A JOKE I WISH I'VE NEVER SPENT A DIME HERE OR WASTED MY TIME. GUYS READ THIS AND DON'T GO THERE IS NOT WORTH IT.

ALL YOU GONNA SEE THERE IS THE PICTURES OF THIS CLOWN (GENO) AND THE FAT CLOWN (BELIEVE IS GENO'S SON) SUPPOSEDLY POSING WITH ALL THESE CELEBRITIES, SO LIVE AND LEARN GUYS DON'T GO TO GENOS.

Stay away, Not worth it. Over rated and false claims of the inventor of the philly steak.

The staff is a bunch of losers who throw sandwiches at you. They cannot remember to put anything you ask for and are extremely rude.

Stay away. Not worth it, Subway has better sandwiches ...LOL

Why??? Just why???. Why anyone would order a steak from here is beyond me, even if you are a tourist. As a native Philadelphian I can tell you, we DO NOT eat at Pat's or Geno's! The best steaks are from local neighborhood spots but if you don't know how to get around, as a tourist, your best bet is Ishkabibbles on South St.

???PHILLY CHEESTEAK??? HA! JOKE!. It really saddens me that this place has been deemed thee tourist attraction for Philly Cheesesteaks because whoever goes to Geno's for that reason will be cheated...I'm from Philly born & raised, I will tell you NOONE from Philly in their right mind will recommend this place to you. I decided to finally try it for myself after 21 years of living here & found out that I could have possibly lived a day longer without ever trying it. It was thee driest steak i've ever had, the roll was not soft like TRUE PHILLY CHEESESTEAK rolls are. There wasn't enough of anything on my roll. I couldnt even eat it all, I was so thirsty and dissapointed. I have & will continue going to my regular spots with locally KNOWN great taste.

For those who are visiting any place....believe me its usually best to Ask A Local.
