Before Ben Franklin Bridge made getting across the Delaware so easy, people shuttled back and forth between the bustling waterfronts of Philadelphia and Camden by ferry boat. Unfortunately, for the last few decades the Camden shores had only offered shuttered factories, and Philly's banks have hosted nothing but I-95 and one near-sighted, never-realized development plan after another. Who would have imagined that Camden would get its act together so well: a baseball stadium Phillies fans would die for, a world-class aquarium and an outdoor concert venue that taunts Center City from across the waters.
