In Short
Cozy American pub features dim lighting, big wooden booths and a decent jukebox. Patrons include neighborhood artists, families with baby carriers and anyone who eschews high-maintenance bar crowds. Local microbrews (Dogfish Head, Victory and Yards) complement grilled cheese and roasted veggie sandwiches, fries and lightly battered smelts. Most come for thick burgers. Others enjoy fresh seafood, including chilled scallop and citrus salad. Homemade granola and yogurt, omelets and bloody marys are served for weekend brunch.

I was on a burger hunt and read some of the reviews ??? I was disappointment in the food, but that was overshadowed by the poor service delivered by a condescending and clearly distracted staff member. Thankfully the kitchen delivered the food without the help of our waitress, as this may have been the most efficient part of the experience. I appreciate the gastropub atmosphere, and didn't expect the service of a four star restaurant, but cannot dismiss the lack of attention as environmental. As for the food--- The standard cheeseburger was well prepared but lacked any exceptional flavor, and the stale bun fell apart as I was attempting to eat it. The burger fits nowhere in the "Best" of category. Bartender played some good music!

Excellent selection of locally brewed beers and a great atmosphere. Somehow everytime I come here, I end up staying for no less than two to three hours.

Standard Tap was early pioneer of Northern Liberties when the area was still run down. Since then, this place became an icon for the rapid development of the neighborhood. They have a great selection of local beers and nice atmosphere. Everything inside the restaurant is old and eclectic.
