In Short – Edgar Allan Poe rented four different homes during the course of his stay in Philadelphia; the only one that still stands has been converted to the National Park Service's official museum dedicated to the horror poet. Left unfurnished and sparse for decades, the site is undergoing major renovations in 2009 -- timed to coincide with Poe's 200th birthday -- that will modernize some of the interpretive exhibits and surprise visitors with a large model of the man's head.
