Where to Win
-
Artful Dodger
Read Reviews400 S 2nd St, Philadelphia, PA 19147 (map)
The Dodger's Quizo crowd is by far the most laid back of the trivia set. Most teams quietly confer while enjoying their fish and chips and a pint of Guinness. Relax, it's only a game. (Wed 8:30pm)

McCrossen's Tavern
Read Reviews529 N 20th St, Philadelphia, PA 19130 (map)
This friendly Fairmount neighborhood bar is a thoughtful way to end the weekend. The emcee calls the questions out to the quiet crowd, who take the questions seriously, but not too seriously. The grand prize is a generous bar tab, so belly up and put those thinking caps on. (Sun 9pm)

Roosevelts

Quizo at Roosevelt's is part trivia game and part fraternity party. Though not as crowded as the city's other Quizo games, the competing teams aren't shy about yelling out answers and comments to the emcee. (Tue 9pm, Thu 9:30pm)
New Wave Cafe

Trivia time at this lively Queen Village hangout is fairly subdued, with teams trying to hear questions called out over the chatty bar clientele. Play includes celebrity identification rounds, with barely recognizable photocopied mugshots frustrating the serious players. (Mon, 9pm)
New Deck Tavern

The game at this Penn hangout is crowded and noisy. On Wednesdays, no seat is empty. Well over 20 teams compete and players show up about an hour and a half early to get on a waiting list for a table. Play costs $1 per person, but with sizable bar tabs as prizes, it's worth it. (Mon, Wed 10pm)
Fergie's Pub
Read Reviews1214 Sansom St, Philadelphia, PA 19107 (map)
Thursdays at Fergie's is intense trivia time. Teams show up at least an hour and half early to grab a table in the upstairs room, which is reserved for Quizo play. Grand prize is credit at the bar, so there's no fooling around here. Tuesdays are less crowded, but just as competitive. (Tue, Thu 9:30pm)
